清华一日游

有一天我们都想去游览清华的校园，但是因为我们一点也不熟悉，所以请我们的周老师带我们一起去，她高兴地答应了。

那天也很热，而且清华太大了，我们没有自行车，只能走路。所以我觉得有点难过。别的同学也觉得很热。我们在路上聊了聊加拿大的夏天。我们告诉周老师，二十摄氏度就算夏天了，她非常吃惊，她问我们，那么不热怎么穿漂亮的裙子？还说，她最喜欢的季节就是夏天了，因为可以天天穿裙子。我们听了都哈哈大笑起来。

然后，我们走到了清华的老校区，全都是老建筑。有大礼堂，绿油油的大草坪，清华学堂，图书馆，喷泉，还有很多很多五颜六色的花。最有名的要算清华的二校门，常常出现在明信片上。于是我们也高高兴兴地拍了很多照片。但是因为是有名的景点，所以有很多人都在那儿拍照，于是我们只能站在旁边照相，有点遗憾。但是照片中的我们还是都甜甜地笑了。

Qinghua campus is full of trees and ancient buildings.

Professor Zhou is very friendly and funny, she introduced almost everywhere for us while we are in Qinghua.

We had a very good time for the tour around Qinghua, and we took a lot of pictures there.

去看机器猫

机器猫一直是我最喜欢的卡通，我看过很多遍，所以很熟悉故事和里面的人。这次听说北京有机器猫的展览，我想，我一定要去看，但是一个人去有点无聊，所以我决定和我的朋友一起去。

我的朋友很可爱，虽然我觉得她不是特别特别漂亮，这个不能告诉她。所以我和她一起去看机器猫更开心了。

但是展览在朝阳区，我们都在海淀区，所以我们需要坐地铁去，有些远，我们大概坐了一个多小时的地铁才到。地铁上有很多人，在加拿大见不到这么多人。我们需要换车，但是我的朋友竟然不太熟悉北京的地铁，要我看着地图带她去。

到了看展览的地方，也有很多人，但是我们还是努力拍了一些照片，因为我实在太喜欢机器猫了！

然后突然开始下大雨，因为展览在外面，所以我们不得不去商场里躲雨。我的朋友说肚子饿，于是我们就去吃冰淇淋了。她特别喜欢吃很甜的东西，可是我因为过敏，不能吃冰淇淋，所以，最后她特别开心地吃冰淇淋，我很伤心地看着她吃。

I couldn’t believe my friend who’s living in Beijing doesn’t know the way around and I was the one showing her the way around in subways.

I was only able to stare at my friend’s ice cream because I’m lactose intolerance.

五道口的课余生活

北京的夏天真热，尤其对于我们这些从加拿大来的人来说。太阳每天都高高地挂在空中，所以我最不喜欢在太阳下面走路了，刚一走出宾馆，我就开始出汗。因为这样，我的活动时间都在傍晚下课以后。

清华的朋友给我介绍了很多好吃的饭馆，还有我最喜欢的大排档。

五道口有很多吃的和玩的地方，比如，正宗的中国餐厅，还有，因为五道口有很多留学生，尤其是韩国学生和日本学生，所以有很多韩国料理和日本料理。我最喜欢吃的韩国菜是炸鸡。但是说到日本料理，我还是觉得加拿大的日本餐厅做饭更好吃。

但是我最爱吃的还是大排档。几乎每天晚上我都去北京语言大学附近的大排档吃烧烤，当然还要喝一点冰的啤酒，特别舒服呢。晚上吃烧烤的人很多，有时候还要等位子，但是好东西总是值得等待的。这是我在北京学到的一课。虽然等待总是那么不容易。

Street food is the best in Beijing, it’s even better than Korean and Japanese foods!

Since there are a lot of international student in Beijing from Korea or Japan, the Korean food and Japanese food there is very good.

上课生活

        回忆总是美好，所以当我离开北京再回想在北京的一个月，留在脑海中的都是开心的事情。 

        来北京的第二天就下了大雨，所以我们就呆在宾馆哪儿也没去。但是史博士冒着大雨去清华开会了，会议开了整整一个下午，所以我还是有点担心，毕竟我们都没有见过任何一个老师。 第一天上课我怀着担心的心情去了教室。徐老师是我们的一位老师，她非常漂亮，穿着一身连衣裙和一双红色的高跟鞋。她也非常亲切，讲课很清楚，虽然课文很难，但是她会慢慢地一点一点给我们讲明白。课文里有很多当今中国社会的现象，我来北京之前不完全了解，这次通过课文了解了更多。另一门课就相对简单一些，主要讲解语法和生词，最重要的是我认识了更多的汉字。因为我们常常听写，所以每一篇课文里的生词我们都需要认识，并且会写。自己写出来是一个极大的挑战，有时候我真的不记得怎么写出来，虽然课下我都很认真地练习写字。所以碰到自己下功夫练习了的汉字，却在听写的时候忘记的情况，我都很沮丧。                      

  


         但是课余生活却很有趣，下次再讲。

TsingHua’s study is going to be one of the most memorable experiences in my life.

I have to practice my Chinese writing, reading, and speaking more and more to improve myself.

It had been a busy month but it is a very happy month for all of us in TsingHua.

Fourth Class – 浙菜 (Zhejiang Cuisine)

Zhe Cai is one of the eight biggest cuisines.  It’s from Zhejiang province in China.  Zhejiang province is a very beautiful province with lots and lots of lakes and river going through.  The most famous river that pass through the Zhejiang province is the Yangtze River which we also call it Changjiang in China.  With lots of fresh water in the province, zhe cai’s dishes is famous from it’s delicate taste and sweetness in all dishes.  Since the ancient time, ancestors in China always say: 上有天堂，下有苏杭 (There’s the heaven at top, and there’s Su Hang on the earth that is just like the heaven.).  Just from such compliment, you already know it must be one of the most delicious cuisines in China.

Since Zhejiang province locates at east coast of China, it is able to get seafood very easily.  With lots of lakes and rivers going through the province, they are able to get fresh water seafood without any problems.  Even the weather condition in Zhejiang is giving it one of the best environments to grow wheat, rice, corn, beans, and all kinds of fruits and vegetables.  This makes zhe cai is able to have a very different variety of food choice.

One of the most famous dishes from Zhe cai is this 西湖醋鱼(xi hu cu yu).  Which is sweet and sour black vinegar fish from Xi Hu – a very famous lake locates in Zhe jiang province.  Its famous because of its sweet and sour taste which will make this a very suitable dish during summer time because sweet and sour will usually beats away the heat and make people eat more food.

Another very famous dish is call 东坡肉 (dong po rou).  This dish is related to one of the most famous poet in China call 苏东坡(su dong po).  This is named after him not because he created it.  It is because this is his favorite dish.  Using stew technique, dong po rou was able to capture all the sauce favor inside the meat and forced out all the fats in the pork.

古人都说，上有天堂，下有苏杭，说的就是中国的浙江省。
